5-Day SCADA Security Course in Orlando - SOLD OUT

First, the 5-day course held in Orlando at the SANS SCADA Summit was a great success. We've upgraded the course to version 2.3, and we have a few extra guests in the room like Tim Roxey from NERC to add some additional spice to the sauce. The hands on labs allowed each student to experience what it is like to first build their own SCADA HMI, and then use their own hacking tools to force coils ON and OFF or overright data within PLC memory addresses. The course was sold out at 48 students, and plans are being made for a followup course to be held in The Woodlands, Texas later this year.

5-Day SCADA Security Advanced Course at SANS SCADA Orlando

The word is spreading about our upcoming 5-day SCADA Security boot camp at the SANS SCADA Summit. 29 students have already registered, and the conference is still a few weeks away. This is the third year that we have been running the course, and it just continues to get better each time.

As with the previous courses, we will be providing two virtual machine environments for each student to take home with them. One has Windows XP loaded up with all of the SCADA and hacking tools and the other is a customized and updated Linux build. We highly recommend that all studsents come with their own laptop with 30 GB of free disk space and a minium of 4 GB of RAM. The very best platform is the Macbook Pro, so use this course as the excuse to jump with two feet into the world of Apple, and you will be very happy you did! Red Tiger at BlackHat Abu Dhabi

For those of you that could not make the BlackHat event in Vegas earlier this year, the conference is coming to Abu Dhabi in the second week of November. We have been invited to present our paper "Electricity for Free? The Dirty Underbelly of SCADA and Smart Meters" at this event, and based on the response that we received in Vegas, this should be a very educational and fun topic.
